It's been a very long week

Yes, it has been a very long week for me, ending today with a 2 1/2 (1 way, so 5 hours driving for me. But it's ok!) hour road trip taking a fellow WLS friend to her moms place so she can stay with her for a few days while she recuperates from a total mastectomy, reconstruction surgery & chemotherapy. She bought my gas and lunch while there which was great! Lunch was easy for her to choose, considering she has had Gastric Bypass and has technically been my "adviser" on alot of stuff! (In addition to you BG!) She advises me but you tell me the Gods honest and point blank truth! Her advice is different because she had the RNY procedure. Anyway, we went Mexican... AUTHENTIC Mexican! OMG how I wanted a Margarita. But I abstained. Lunch, consisted of a Chicken and cheese quesadilla, those re-fried beans and spicy Mexican Rice. And portions so freaking big that I doubt I could have finished them even before I started this journey, let alone now! And All for $8.95. Well, needless to say I have lunch for the next 2 days too with the left overs. I don't really care for rice so DH gets that. He was happy since he had to work a 10 hour day today.

Anyway, I'm going in for my first fill on Monday and I'm not only a little nervous, I'm very excited to get the restriction again. I have a list of questions that I am going to ask, (thanks again BG) and I am anxious to get the answers. I'll also have a new weight post after that appointment. I'm starting to notice things changing. My rings are getting looser, DH says he can feel that I am losing when he puts his arms around me. and My clothes are now finally starting to fit a little bit different.Oh what a great new life this is going to be.

I've been stalking I mean, looking at blogs that BG follows again! Reading and then following myself, so if you suddenly see me pop up, I mean, appear on your follower list, I'd like to beg I mean, ask... No I mean BEG. LOL, you to please find me and follow me in return! I am going to try and post more, and interesting stuff on here just as soon as I find something that I think is interesting enough to post! LOL... Now, what did I do with that list of questions for Monday?

Happy Presidents Day!

Whether you have today off or not today is Presidents day. I have done well today, and I have decided to go to our leader and start following many blogs that my (Our) buddy, BandGroupie follows. So if you see that I have started following you... please feel free to follow me... I'd like that immensely! However, I can't promise the "Before" pictures as BG has done. all I can promise is the updates when I get a chance to do so, and how about I promise a picture at every 20 lb loss, since my profile pic IS my Before pic. It was taken in December 2009 and I started my journey to health in January, 2010. So ok... you're saying my point is? I really have none! other than, I'm begging for followers! LOL  Please?!?!  :-)

Valentines Day

Just wanted to make a post and say Happy Valentines day a little early, to all my Stalkers friends and followers! (sorry BG, had to steal try something that you do to see if it made my post any more interesting, NOT) I hope it is a pleasant and not to hectic one for you all! DH and I are thinking about going out tonight and then coming  home to watch a  movie. Much like we do on our every Saturday night date night every week, however, instead of cooking healthy and staying in we are thinking about trying to go out and choose healthy "good for you" stuff tonight.

I'm a Few Days Behind

Here it is 2/6 and I haven't posted since last week. It has been a crazy up hill, down hill week here. 3 funerals in 4 days. A MAJOR argument with my father, which led to a major blow-up with my sister and I have been an emotional wreck most of the week. Now, I don't normally fight with either my father, (mom deceased 4 1/2 years ago, from heart health problems caused by morbid Obesity) OR my sister! I love them both dearly. BUT, my sister has always been a bit of an instigator in the family. The whole situation started with a letter from big (eldest) sis (I'm the youngest of 5, 2 boys and 3 girls) to my fathers GF, telling her why the rest of the family felt the way they did about her being in dads life... excuse me big sister but, I'm 46 yrs old, I can speak for myself, thank you! Dad's GF is MY age and she was presented to the family in a bit of a hurry. Within 3 days she was moved in with my dad and that is when the family turmoil started... My bro that is closest in age to me and I live the closest to them and deal with them on an almost daily basis. The Older 3 live in New Hampshire, Texas & Ohio, the closest to us being a 5 hour drive. Now mind you we are convinced that she saw $$$ when she met and moved in with dad but, HE is HAPPY and if that happiness makes him live longer than what would have been, then we are OK with the situation. My sisters on the other hand can see only the gold-digger in the equation and cannot stand the fact that he has replaced our mother with this woman. The GF shows my dad nothing but respect and love. And in some ways they are more outwardly affectionate than my mom and he EVER were. She takes really good care of him and because the sibs and I are either to far away or to busy to "check in" with him every day, this is a really good thing in my opinion. Anyway, the GF feels "unwanted" and "unwelcome" in our family (hello, you ARE 30 years younger than the man you are living with) so sis took it upon herself to "explain" how everyone felt. UGH! The written word is never taken like it is supposed to be so that letter was taken all out of context and so ensued the HUGE fight between me and dad because I live the closest and was the easiest to get to that day... And apparently he felt tht I was the meanest to the GF... Then I finally get things smoothed over and I get a email from sis telling me to take pictures off facebook because she doesn't want her face up there, so I say ok but in the meantime can you please tell me why... to which a HUGE email fight ensues with HER. UGH! I've just had way to much on my plate this week emotionally to deal with all this family crap! However, I did stay strong in my healthy eating and staying on track... lots of cheese, chicken, and yogurt this week... Bandlandia and Onederland PLEASE take me away!

2 Down 1 To Go!

Hi all, well I have made it thru 2 very sad and very hard funerals Saturday, was my 46 year old college friend and as hard as the funeral itself was I didn't even attend the "reception" afterwards because it was a long ride home and I was very tired from all the tears I had shed.  Today was my husbands Grandmother... The one I think I was dreading the most... His family is very good at the "party" or family gathering thing! We started at 8 am with a quick breakfast at McDonalds! UGH... I was good! I had a breakfast burrito... and they basically tore it apart to get the egg and sausage out of it. I did eat part of the "shell". Then on to the funeral service and then to the cemetery. After that we headed back to the church for the "reception"! OMG I was so freaking nervous! All of his family, who are all fit as a fiddle. and I don't think have ever had a weight problem. And of course I haven't told any of them about my new way of life and my journey to lose weight... Again I am actually proud of myself for what I PASSED UP!!! I chose deviled eggs, cheese, turkey & ham slices and a spoon full of baked beans! I was so full!!! I think I did good, don't you? Well I am off to support group meeting and then a chorus rehearsal. One more funeral tomorrow for the pastor who married me and DH... another sad occasion however, I will not be staying for the reception so... Thank God my eating will be back on track!
